Easter is just around the corner, and I decided to make this fun hands on toy for my 15 month old. This is something that is easy to make at home and can be used to strengthen the following skills:
hand eye coordination
colour recognition
sorting skills

To start, paint an egg carton holder with colours of your choosing. I chose the rainbow colour because that's also the same colour yarn I had at home; and rainbow colours are just generic enough for any baby to start recognizing colours.
Then, I decided to crochet the corresponding colour eggs using the following crochet pattern. If you've enjoyed this pattern, please share it with your friends and family and please tag @the.mad.knatter.
Pattern Notes
Easter eggs are easy to make and work up rather quickly. They measure approximately 3” (7.5 cm) in height and will fit in your average egg cartons. The pattern is worked in rounds so make sure you have a stitch marker to mark your rounds. Great project to make easter eggs as decor around the house during Easter, an eco-friendly and reusable easter egg hunt and these make great amigurumi toys for toddlers with small hands.
