I started this pattern wanting to make a sensory toy for my 15 month old so that she can do some fishing at home. I was so excited to be creating a pattern for a fish and with the yarn selection I had, I thought a clown fish would be very fitting.
As I started to create the pattern, I soon realized, who the heck goes fishing for a clown fish? But nonetheless, I kept going.
I finally finished my project and I tried to fish it, I realized that my fish was way too big and it was nearly impossible to catch. I guess this is why you call it fishing and not catching. But, knowing the attention span of a 15 month old. This wouldn't fly by very well. So here I am, left with a free crochet pattern for you folks!

Pattern Notes
This is a very simple pattern that can be worked up in less than an hour. The body of the fish is worked up in rounds while changing colours. The fins and tail are then attached to the body. This fish measures approximately 8” (20.5 cm) from mouth to tail; and approximately 6.5” (16.5 cm) from fin to fin. This is a FREE clown fish pattern. You can find the famous clown fish, Nemo, here. Anatomically the clown fish also have dorsal, caudal and pelvic fins; but I did not include this to keep it aesthetically simple.
